ABC’s for Literacy wants to help build each child a strong, “literacy house” that withstands the huffs and puffs of life…beginning with a solid foundation. That is why we also offer literacy lesson memberships and professional development training to educators: school and daycare educators.
Our literacy strategies are learned from top national educators and educational researchers, and our lessons really supports the daycare teacher with manipulatives, games, songs, videos, and printable hands-on activities right on hand or just a click away. Our program is research-based, child-tested, and standards-aligned.
ABC’s for Literacy helps the stakeholders in a child’s education understand the goals & easily work together for lasting results for the child. Learning is a journey to be savored, not a race to win.
Professional Development Course on Membership Lessons (Skype conference 4 hour course)… $750
Explains how to best utilize & organize the literacy lessons in the daycare setting to help parents help their child. Our learning activities are a great resource to parents making the daycare an appealing choice for care. Maximum 15 participants, and computers, printers, paper cutters, scissors, cardstock paper, etc. must be supplied.

Traditional PD with instructor on hand. Covers the same topics as Skype conference. Maximum 35 participants. Computers, printers, heavy-duty paper cutters, scissors, cardstock paper, etc. must be supplied. Multiple daycares may attend same session.

Note: Must be approved & scheduled a month prior to date. Educators may not be available to travel at certain times, and travel must be arranged with an estimate of total of travel expenses determined and paid prior to trip.
Educators come away from an ABC’s for Literacy course with knowledge and materials to use in the classroom and to provide parents. As we teach concepts of phonics, phonemic awareness, and whole-language, our program compliments other reading curriculum in place. And ABC’s for Literacy makes it easy for the teacher to provide the parents with individualized work for the child to practice during the school year or summer keeping the child growing and helping him or her retain their knowledge. ABC’s for Literacy helps the teacher and parent work as a team for the success of the child.
